Have you wondered about different ways to think about your diagnosis? Or whether or not your medication(s) is helping? As your psychiatrist, I hope to help you understand your story and be curious together about different paths forward. This might include safely tapering medications, trying different medications altogether, exploring internal narratives (the way we talk to ourselves), defining personal values, and/or finding clarity to make lifestyle goals that are meaningful to you. I often emphasize social connections and the importance of love in our lives.

Clinical Approach

I strive to create a safe and warm space where you can better understand and empathize with yourself. This will be through psychotherapy in a variety of forms and our shared management of medications.

“In my early professional years, I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?” ― Carl R. Rogers

Outside of work I am usually found with my two young kids. I enjoy spending time outside, hanging out with family and friends, adventuring around Madison, swimming, playing ultimate frisbee, doing yoga, gardening, and biking.
