The information needed to change and heal is present within you, my role is to help you connect with that inherent knowledge. In my experience, there are three access points to healing; the mind, the body, and the biofield, a subtle yet complex energy field that surrounds each of us and connects to our body, mind, spirit and the universe. I incorporate all three entry points in my practice using evidence based techniques and non-traditional modalities rooted in the wisdom of our ancestors and the earth.
My interest in the healing arts began at age 12 when I began practicing massage and received a Reiki Level 1 certification. It was at that point that I knew I wanted to learn how to help people heal and that same feeling is still present in my practice today. I enjoy exploring the science behind energy work through research, self experimentation, meditation and connecting with the earth. Making healthy food to build nutritive qi, with the plants I grow is a priority. Time with my friends, family, pets, and nature friends (wild animals, trees, plants, rocks etc) is also very important to me.
Clinical Approach
Each client session is important to me. This is the time we both get to focus on you. While I will interject at times with questions, humor, suggestions or anecdotes, I am focused on you and your reason for being in therapy. I am intuitive and sensitive and I use those skills to connect with clients and help guide and deepen our work. At times we need to focus on skill building, other times the session is spent talking about life circumstances and being heard. When appropriate, I offer to engage in work that is more transformational using Brainspotting, sound healing, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems and memory work. We will navigate the session together.
Who I Work With
I work with adults 18 and up.
I have a special interest in working with those that want to gain a clearer understanding of the connection between the mind body and nervous system. I specialize in the treatment of Anxiety, Trauma and Chronic Pain.
