Emily Wiersma, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Licensed States: Wisconsin
Years of Experience: 11 year
I was drawn to this field because I believe people are capable of meaningful growth and change, even during some of life’s most difficult moments. I find it incredibly rewarding to support clients as they build on their strengths and create lives that are aligned with their values.
Outside of sessions, I enjoy reading, practicing and teaching yoga, and spending time with family.
Clinical Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative and growth-oriented. Together, we'll identify ways to live aligned with your values and build on your strengths. We can identify new things to try or ways to get outside your comfort zone between sessions. I strive to create a space that is nonjudgmental, where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, while being direct when needed.
Who I Work With
I work primarily with teens and adults who are looking for support in building the insight, skills, and confidence to work towards their goals and live a life in line with their values. I help those who struggle with the impact of stressful or traumatic events, as well as those experiencing significant anxiety on a day-to-day basis, manage and process their thoughts and feelings.
