Lauren works with families, individuals and couples seeking to improve the overall state of their relationship. She has worked with those who suffer from poly-substance abuse issues (alcohol and other drugs), severe and persistent mental illnesses as well as returning military and their families. Lauren also works with clients looking to manage their depression, anxiety, improve on their ability to effectively communicate, family relational issues, improving self-esteem and transitional issues.
Training and Experience
Lauren is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Behavioral Sciences and Law and her Master of Science Degree from Edgewood College. She has worked for community mental health agencies, and private practice since her graduation in 2010. She is currently a Level 1 trained Gottman method couples therapist.
Lauren often uses Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches, and incorporates many of the Gottman Institutes empirically tested tools but draws on techniques from a variety of theories depending on the needs of the client and the issues they are facing. As a systems therapist, Lauren also works to show her clients how our relationships and the community we live in uniquely affect us.
