Psychiatrist

DETAILS: In September 2010, Dr. Frey moved from Bismarck, ND to Madison and joined Mental Health Solutions as a Psychiatrist. His practice will focus on providing comprehensive psychiatric care for all ages. Dr. Frey also has an interest in Medical Informatics -- the interface between health care and technology. We are very pleased to welcome him to our clinic.

Types of clients: Children, Adolescents, Adults, Families

Treatment Specialties: Dr. Frey provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment for individuals of all ages. His duties include diagnosis, medication management, limited psychotherapy and coordination of care with other treatment team members including therapists and primary care providers. Areas of special interest include Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety, Depression, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Training/Experience: Dr. Frey is Board Certified in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He then completed a residency in Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. He practiced at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND for 6 years before returning to Madison to join Mental Health Solutions.

Techniques: Dr. Frey conducts psychiatric evaluations for diagnosis and treatment planning. His primary focus is on medication management. Limited therapy techniques may include cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, supportive, and psycho-educational approaches.
