Treatment Specialties: Anne is a licensed psychologist who has been in private practice since 1992. She treats children, adolescents, adults, and couples. She was the co-owner of a thriving practice in North Carolina before moving back to Madison in 2000. Anne and her husband, Richard, co-direct Madison's exciting Young Shakespeare's Players-- a not-for-profit theater serving Madison for more than thirty years!

Anne's primary clinical interests include disorders of mood, especially complicated or entrenched depression, social anxiety, and problems of identity and self-image. She has a strong interest in fostering effective self-expression, including helping artists, writers, and performers resolve creative blocks and the pressures associated with performance. Anne is also a certified hypnotherapist; she combines this skill with cognitive, behavioral, and insight-oriented methods in her clinical work. Prior to her career in psychology, Anne worked as a teacher, writer, editor, and creative director for several educational publications.

Training/Experience: PsyD, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago, IL; Specialty training in child/adolescent assessment and psychology at the University of Illinois Institute for Juvenile Research; Certification as Master Clinical Hypnotherapist, 1995. M.A. in English Literature and Classics. National Register.

Techniques: Cognitive-behavioral, object-relations, brief psychodynamic, solution-focused therapies; clinical hypnosis.
